Dr. Gerwin Janke
Gerwin Janke is a partner of Janke & Reinsch. Before, he was an associate attorney (1993 – 1997) and an equity partner (1997 – 2006) in the international law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (and its German predecessor Bruckhaus Westrick Stegemann) in its New York and Frankfurt offices.
For over 30 years Gerwin has been representing and advising clients in complex litigation and arbitration matters. His special expertise is in the areas of corporate law, capital markets law and intellectual property law. His clients include well known issuers of closed-end funds, venture capital companies, banks, corporate officers and companies in the hotel and chain restaurants industry.
From 1983 to 1988 Gerwin studied law (First State Examination in 1988) and economics at the University of Freiburg. As a Fulbright scholar he received the degree “Master of Laws” from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1989. In 1993 Gerwin was awarded a Ph.D. by the University of Freiburg for a comparative analysis of damages law.
